Description of project
Badao Hydro Power Project (70 MW) is located in East Kameng District of the state Arunachal Pradesh on the Kameng River.

The project comprises a gravity dam, a single opening intake structure on the right abutment, a diversion tunnel, a concrete lined headrace tunnel, an underground pressure shaft and a vertical surge shaft. The pressure shaft feeds the surface powerhouse containing 2 Francis units each with a capacity of 35 MW. One open tailrace channel discharges the water back into the river.
