
Following the tragic event in Japan, several countries in Central Europe have decided to phase out nuclear energy. Now the time has come to replace the lack of energy production. Renewable energy sources alone will not be able to cover the energy production deficiency. Furthermore, the increasing use of decentralized power generation demands higher flexibility from the grids. It has become necessary for all energy market participants to exert greater efforts to cope with this change. This applies particularly not only to the operators of generation plants and grids but also to investors.
