Societal security and crisis management

Today's technical systems are complex, and the majority require secure communications. The demand for accessibility is therefore extremely high in terms of the communications systems involved. ÅF has the breadth, expertise and size to handle the development, document specification, implementation, project planning, commissioning and maintenance of products and systems in the field of communications. ÅF is also involved in developing many of the new services and functions that operators and consumers demand.
Security accreditation and certification
The ability of the Swedish Armed Forces (FM) to operate nationally and internationally depends on the superiority of its information being assured in every situation. This is only possible if the systems meet the toughest requirements for security protection. The security system must be designed to meet the operation's high demand for usability without losing the superior level of information.
ÅF has extensive experience of security work, covering everything from security specifications to system design and the production of accreditation documents.
In many of ÅF's projects, it is vital to be able to quantify the performance of various types of system, many of which are usually complex and difficult to view as a whole.
Through systematic analysis, a system can be broken down into smaller parts at the level best suited for identifying the relevant properties and then assigning them a performance value. System performance can then be established by collating the performance of the subsystems.
More and more interference problems are arising between sender and receiver as the frequency spectrum is increasingly used for communication, navigation, surveillance and controls etc., often with partly overlapping frequency ranges, in the same geographical area.
ÅF has extensive experience of analysing interference environments, allowing us to provide information on the conditions and signal degradation a receiver may be subject to in such an environment
We all want our electrical and electronic apparatus and equipment to work in the appropriate environment. CE labelling guarantees that electronic equipment meets the basic legal requirements, but then there are also performance requirements and the sometimes tough demands of the actual environment itself.
In other words, we want to achieve EMC (Electro Magnetic Compatibility), which means that the equipment will not be interfered with by its environment and will not interfere with other equipment in the immediate vicinity.
A device's EMC properties are one element of the quality expected by a user seeking uninterrupted functionality. ÅF can help to ensure that the user gets that quality.
The problem of multiple or incomplete security logs and poor tools for log analysis in systems of computers and networks can be solved by a system containing a single tool for security logging, alerting and log analysis.
In addition to all the normal types of transaction, you can monitor which computers are connected to the network. The system can be set to generate an alert for the types of event specified. The system's self-protection is robustly designed, with self-testing and installation in its own secure domain. ÅF has the knowledge and the tools!
