Locum, Stockholms hospitals

Stockholm and its property company Locum are committed to solar energy, and plan to install 20 000 square metres of photovoltaic cells on hospital buildings in the Stockholm area. The hospitals of Danderyd, Huddinge and Södertälje were the first off the blocks. ÅF designed their solar power systems, with a combined installed effect of 1 200 kWh and an annual production in excess of 1 GWh, equivalent to the annual consumption of 200 standard size homes. The project has received an honourable mention from The Swedish Solar Power association, Svensk Solenergi,

Locum is planning further solar energy systems at several hospitals and ÅF has carried out pre-studies and calculations for this next phase.
